A gift for the dad who has everything
My husband, Ed literally has everything he could ever want or need. So, when Father’s Day comes rolling around, I’m always left asking myself the same question: “What’s a good Father’s Day gift for the dad who has everything?” So, I finally settled on the perfect gift: nothing. Well, that’s not entirely accurate. I got him something small and meaningful along with a fun experience because, at the end of the day, Ed and I want memories not more stuff!
I decided the best thing to do for Father’s Day was to take Ed to a great place not too far from our house that I knew he would love. River Horse Brewery is located in Ewing, New Jersey and where they make some of Ed’s favorite beers. With summer nearly here, there’s nothing my husband enjoys more than a cold beer at the end of the day. What better way to honor my hardworking guy than with a fun tour and tasting!
Brewery near Princeton, New Jersey
Tours of River Horse run throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays. They’re an excellent way to learn a bit more about the process while sampling some of their delicious selections. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and made the atmosphere light and fun. I was impressed with the quantity of production from a small craft brewery. You should see their stack of empty cans waiting to be filled!
The best personalized Father’s Day gift
I did surprise Ed with a little gift from the kids and me. We had a personalized beer glass made from Giftsforyounow. The glass was the perfect Father’s Day gift for the dad who has everything because it was something that he could actually use! I smuggled it into River Horse so that he could enjoy it right then and there, filled with his favorite beer. The fact that it was an engraved beer glass with Ava and Max’s name on it made it even sweeter. Giftsforyounow had so many options for personalized beer glasses; it was honestly hard for me to choose. Ed loved the size and shape of this one and how it perfectly fit a whole beer.
After our tour and sampling, we hung out for a bit and took advantage of a rare opportunity to spend time together and drink beer, without our children. For Ed and I, memories and being together is way more important than just stuff. The personalized beer glass did make a bit more special though.
Do you live in the greater Princeton area and haven’t been to River Horse Brewery? You are seriously missing out. Schedule a tour online and give dad what you know he’ll love, a cold beer and an engraved beer glass. I’m not a dad, but that seems like the perfect Father’s Day gift for the dad who has everything.
